MGNREGA
The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA ) is an Indian job-guarantee scheme, enacted by legislation on 25 August 2005.
The scheme provides a legal guarantee for 100 days of employment in every financial year to adult members of any rural household willing to do public work. The Act focuses on rural areas, where poverty is higher than in urban areas, and is particularly valuable during lean periods when the rural population are not able to obtain jobs. The MGNREGA , by providing a legal guarantee to work, marks a paradigm shift from all earlier and existing wage employment programs because it is an Act and not just a scheme.

DRDA का पंचायती राज विभाग में विलय के आलोक में मनरेगा अंतर्गत जिला कार्यक्रम समन्वयक, जिला के उपायुक्त को बनाने का प्रस्ताव
प्रावधानुसार जिला में मनरेगा के क्रियान्वयन की जिम्मेवारी जिला कार्यक्रम समन्वयक की होती है |
मनरेगा के वार्षिक मास्टर परिपत्र 2021-22 के कंडिका 20.4 के अनुसार जिलों के जिला दंडाधिकारी / उपायुक्त अथवा समकक्ष स्तर का कोई जिला स्तरीय पदाधिकारी बन सकता है |
01/04/2016 से जिला कार्यक्रम समन्वयक के कार्यों का निर्वहन उपविकास आयुक्त द्वारा किया जा रहा है |
22 राज्यों में जिला कार्यक्रम समन्वयक के कार्यों का निर्वहन उपायुक्त/ जिला दंडाधिकारी / District Collector द्वारा किया जा रहा है |
